Special Duties

The Special Duties Directorate at the NCDC coordinates strategic initiatives, fostering partnerships, and overseeing project management activities, including resource mobilisation efforts for significant projects like the Global Fund C19RM and BHCPF. The directorate operates through the arms of Strategy and Resource Mobilisation, Partnerships, Project Management and the Information and Communication Technology unit.

The Directorate is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the organisational strategic plan through regular follow-ups with departments and units, quarterly steering committee (SteerCo) meetings, and mid/end-term reviews. The directorate also manages the organisational engagement with partners including Ministries, Departments and Agencies, and public and private sectors.

The Project Management Office oversees key projects, including the Nigeria COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Project (CoPrep), Global Fund COVID-19 Response Mechanism and Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF), ensuring effective resource mobilisation and project implementation for pandemic preparedness and response.

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) arm supports the organisation's mandate of preventing, detecting, and responding to public health emergencies and disease outbreaks in Nigeria through facilitating data management, strengthening information systems and supporting public health interventions.
